About the Artist
The Story Behind Motza Box
Motza Box is the creative identity of Isaac Costanzo, an Australian singer-songwriter, guitarist, musician and content creator hailing from the Gold Coast, Queensland, and now based across the Gold Coast and Brisbane. What began as a childhood passion for music, filmmaking and entertainment has grown into a creative journey driven by storytelling, self-expression and a love for bringing people together.
The Early Years: Where It All Began
Isaac's love for music began long before Motza Box existed. Growing up surrounded by music, from childhood favourites such as The Wiggles to the sounds of the 1980s, 1990s, 2000s and the later 2010s, music became an important part of his life. Receiving his first Wiggles guitar as a young child sparked an early interest in performing and entertaining.
Throughout primary school, Isaac explored different instruments, including the violin and flute, while gaining experience performing in school concert bands. These early experiences helped shape his musical interests and laid the foundations for his future as a musician.
In 2016, at the age of 12, Isaac received his first guitar for Christmas, marking a turning point in his musical journey. He began developing his guitar skills before taking singing lessons the following year, gradually discovering his passion for songwriting and performing.
2016–2018: The Birth of Motza Box
In 2016, Isaac began exploring his creative ambitions under the name ISC Studios, an early concept centred around filmmaking and entertainment.
With the support and creativity of his family, this idea eventually evolved into Motza Box, a name inspired by the concept of having "lots of" creativity, ideas and entertainment contained within one box. The vision behind Motza Box was simple: to bring a wealth of happiness, creativity and entertainment to people through a variety of artistic projects.
From 2017 onwards, Isaac developed a strong passion for filmmaking, video production and vlogging, sharing his experiences and adventures through YouTube. What began as a creative hobby became an important outlet for storytelling and self-expression.
By 2018, at just 14 years old, Isaac began writing original songs and recording his first musical demos. Throughout his high school years, he continued developing his songwriting and musicianship while balancing his growing interest in music with his YouTube content.
2019–2021: Finding His Voice
In 2019, at the age of 15, Isaac officially began his journey as a recording artist with the release of his debut single, "Does She Have Feelings?". This marked an important milestone for Motza Box, transforming years of musical exploration into his first officially released original song.
Throughout the following years, Isaac continued writing, recording and experimenting with different musical styles, drawing inspiration from the music he grew up listening to.
In 2021, during his final year of high school, Isaac achieved another memorable milestone by winning his school's Rainbow Faces talent show with a cover of Shawn Mendes' "Treat You Better". He also performed at his Year 12 formal, further developing his confidence and passion for live performance.
These experiences strengthened his determination to pursue music beyond high school.
Developing the Motza Box Sound
As Isaac's musical journey progressed, he began establishing his own artistic identity, drawing inspiration from pop, funk and classic rock, alongside the nostalgic sounds of the 1980s, 1990s and 2000s.
Influenced by artists such as Michael Jackson and the energetic, groove-driven music of earlier decades, Motza Box developed a sound combining catchy melodies, rhythmic guitar work, infectious grooves and personal storytelling.
His songwriting frequently explores themes of love, relationships, personal experiences and the emotions of everyday life, bringing together heartfelt lyrics and upbeat musical arrangements.
Continuing his musical education at Queensland University of Technology (QUT), Isaac has expanded his experience in songwriting, recording, collaboration and live performance, working alongside fellow musicians and developing his skills as an independent artist.
His growing discography includes his debut EP, "A Little More Time", and his second EP project, "In Motion", which explores a more energetic, pop and funk-inspired direction.
Motza Box Today
Today, Motza Box continues to bring together Isaac's two creative passions: music and digital content creation.
As a live performer, Isaac offers a variety of performance formats, from intimate solo acoustic sets incorporating live looping to energetic full-band shows, as well as performances combining both approaches.
Alongside his musical career, he continues creating YouTube content, sharing personal adventures, entertaining videos and behind-the-scenes moments from his creative journey.
What began in 2016 as a small creative idea has grown into a developing independent artistic project, shaped by years of experimentation, learning and dedication.
At its heart, Motza Box remains true to the original vision that Isaac and his family imagined: a creative space filled with music, entertainment, storytelling and a desire to bring happiness to audiences.
And with more music, performances and creative projects ahead, the story of Motza Box is still being written.
